Competing for Federal Grant Opportunities in the Social Sciences
Who Should Attend
Course is designed for USC investigators and specialists interested in social and behavioral sciences, policy research and law, and the health sciences.
The course provides an overview of the types of federal grant opportunities that exist in the social sciences, with a focus on research, but including programmatic grants. The course will discuss differences in the interests, mission, and goals of the main federal agencies that fund social science, and how it impacts social science research. We will review steps to take in preparing a grant proposal, including how to be responsive tot he goals of the solicitation, how to establish collaborations, and how the Office of Research Advancement can help.
