Developing NIH Grant Applications
Who Should Attend
Course is designed for new and established USC investigators who wish to submit a grant application to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The objective is to educate investigators in the complete process of conceptualizing an NIH grant proposal, structuring the application, submitting it for peer review, and working with Institute staff to get the application funded.
Course Description
The course will focus on the unique proposal requirements and review process for NIH. Course objectives will be to instruct participants in how to identify which NIH Institute to target, determine Institute funding priorities, evaluate which funding mechanisms are most appropriate, prepare applications for different NIH solicitations like Program Announcements and Requests for Applications, prepare for the NIH review process, build relationships with funding agencies, and advocate in the most effective manner for funding of the application.
