Histology Core

The USC Stem Cell Core is located at the HSC campus. Services include: histology services and assistance with processing, embedding, sectioning, H&E staining. Microtome use and training (‘Do it yourself’ H&E staining & coverslips) are also available.

Histology Laboratory

The USC School of Pharmacy Histology Laboratory is located on the fourth floor of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Center. Services include: all steps to make microscope slides from tissue samples; processing & embedding, paraffin sectioning , frozen sectioning, H&E staining, and Microm HM310 rotary microtome usage. Equipment includes: Microm Spin Tissue Processor STP 120, Microm Tissue Embedding Center EC350, Microm Rotary Microtome, Vibratome, Microm Cryostat HM 525, CryoJane, Thermo Shandon Hyperclean Station, and Zeiss Axioskop Microscope.

Translational Pathology Facility – Slides & Soft Tissue

The Norris Cancer Center Translational Pathology Core provides normal and tumor tissue specimens for laboratory-based, epidemiologic and clinical studies conducted by Cancer Center investigators. Services include: adult and pediatric normal and tumor tissue specimens, and population-based, fixed tissue specimens.
