Who Should Attend

Course is designed for all USC faculty, postdocs and graduate students interested in improving their presentation skills.

Course Description

Communications expert, Tim Miller, trained in scientific and technical communcation, will share his knowledge to make you a better presenter. The session addresses some of the most common challenges inherent in delivering a technical presentation, and gives practical, actionable advice about what to do, and what not to do, when delivering a technical talk.

Learn voice and technological tips and tricks to take your scientific presenatations to the next level. Participants are asked to bring a short presentation (5-10) slides from a previous or future presentation that you would like feedback on. This all-day training seminar is comprised of several sections:

Introductions & Icebreakers
The Nature of Communication
Practice Presentations & Feedback
Mastering Public Presentations (voice, body and tech aspects)

One 8 hour session. Offered once per semester.
