Mock NIH Study Section Panels for K and R Awards
Who Should Attend
Course is designed for new and junior USC investigators, and CHLA faculty involved in biomedical basic, translational or clinical research who are interested in the processes of K-awards and/or R-awards. The objective is to educate investigators in the processes and assiting faculty making their grants more competitive in today’s funding climate.
These sessions will demonstrate to junior faculty how study sections review, approve and prioritize submitted research proposals at the NIH both for the K-awards and R-awards. A panel of ‘Mock Study Section’ reviewers will be created, using actual USC faculty grants as examples, the panelists will demonstrate the deliberations and discussions that occur. There will be an opportunity for Q & A at the end of session.
