Establishing Research Institutes and Centers at USC
The University of Southern California conducts research and scholarship to advance knowledge and address issues critical to our community, the nation, and the world. Such pursuits are often highly interdisciplinary, and sometimes require organizational structures that facilitate research collaboration.
Research institutes are mechanisms by which the University encourages faculty, as well as students and staff, to engage in research activities whose scale and scope is beyond that of a single school. This document sets University procedures and governance for a cross-school research institute and center.
